Ideal position for enthusiastic young people or recent graduates and college leavers with an interest in childcare or teaching, but not obligatory, or just wanting a great 6 month+ stop gap to fill in some time and gain life experience that will enhance your CV.

Live as part of a family and become one of the family team for 6 months or longer.
You will be provided with your own bedroom and full board and lodging. Some families may require you to contribute £58 a week towards this.
Your role will help with childcare, homework (if older children), preparation of simple meals, grocery shopping and light housework. If the family have household pets you may be required to help with them.
You will be required to work for at least 25 hours a week and these hours will be between 7am and 8pm, Monday to Friday (to be agreed on with family).
Driving of family car and occasional evening babysitting may also be required.
English and Maths GCSE, 2 A Levels or NVQ or apprenticeship equivalent. Driving licence and advantage.
You must have some childcare experience as a babysitter or from other supervisory childcare roles, such as helping to care for your younger siblings.
Good childcare experience can help to increase your earning potential.
You will be required to provide a clean portable DBS check and some of the roles may require you to complete a childcare related common core skills course (we can help with this), but doing this would enable higher earning potential.
Some host families are eligible for government childcare support and will require the successful applicant to register with Ofsted. The family will contribute £300 towards the cost of this once the applicant has successfully completed 3 months of the placement. Families will also consider paying a higher salary.

Many families will pay a higher rate for the right person (up to £10 per hour) and may also require additional hours of help.
Please note that £58 per week (accommodation offset allowance) could be deducted at source for the weekly accommodation and board and lodging.

No tax or NI contributions are required at the above salary level.
If earnings are below £10,000 per annum, the employer is not required to offer workplace pension scheme.
